Chris Barber is a jazz bandleader and trombonist. He helped the careers of many other musicians, including Ottilie Patterson, who was at one time his wife, Lonnie Donegan and Alexis Korner.
Barber is still touring in 2016.

The Chris Barber Jazz Band with Ottilie Patterson played at the opening night of the Aylesbury Jazz Club at the Grosvenor Ballroom on January 13th 1959 – and were the first band to appear when the Aylesbury Jazz Club returned to the newly refurbished and re-named Borough Assembly Hall on 22nd October 1963; on this occasion, Ottilie Patterson was billed to appear but was unwell.
